Larry Bush, after years of business
experience and community service, is running for the Oklahoma House of Representatives for District 62.
Born September 12, 1973 in Ada, Oklahoma, Larry graduated from Ada High School where he was a very competitive athlete in track and an all American football player, leading the football team to a class 3A State Championship as their quarterback.
Following high school, Larry got a scholarship to play football at the University of Oklahoma in which he played all four years as a starting defensive back. After senior year at OU, he went to the New York Giants, Tampa Bay Buccaneers, and the Hamilton Tiger Cats before returning to OU to get a degree in sociology.
Larry then got married to Lawton native Rachel Mata and returned to her hometown of Lawton. Shortly thereafter, he opened his own insurance agency. That agency has become one of the fastest growing in Oklahoma, receiving many awards, including the destination of Allstate Premiere Agency 2015 and Rookie of the year.
Rachel and Larry have a 14 year old son Devin and an 13 year old daughter Victoria.
Larry has been actively involved in his community, primarily through the school systems in various capacities, including working with school principals, speaking to students about the importance of education, coaching, reading to various classrooms and sponsoring needed supplies and donations to further support local schools and students.
His community service also includes Booster Club President, a Lawton Partner in Education and the Fellowship of Christian Athletes.
“I have lived in Lawton for over 17 years, and Rachel and I are proud to call Lawton our home.”
